It’s true Love Exposure is quite long (4h). But consider this example, reading a Dostoevsky novel requires time, and when a movie adaptation is in the works, details are cut out to keep the length as short as possible. It’s like cutting away leaves to keep only the trunk of the tree. And that’s what is used to make the film. I think all these details are exactly what make the movie interesting. If keeping these details means making a longer film, so be it. In literacy, there are multiple volume novels. And after all, we’re the DVD generation, if we want to watch a 4-hour-long movie, we can decide to pause it in the same manner we would bookmark a page. Today, we can have that kind of practice with films.
